Who We Are

Who We Are

Grace & Peace Presbyterian Church is a young church with an ancient message. We believe that we are much more sinful and broken than we ever imagined, but in Jesus Christ we are much more loved and accepted than we ever dared to hope. This message transforms us and the world around us. We are committed to preaching and practicing that message and aligning ourselves with other Christian churches who believe it as well.

We are members of the Presbyterian Church in America and affiliated with The Gospel Coalition.

Our Core Values

Gospel-Centered Ministry

We focus on sharing the gospel in word and deed, because it is the power of God for all of salvation for all people. The gospel isn’t simply the A, B, C of Christianity, it’s the A-Z of Christianity.

Authentic Worship

We worship God from a genuine heart because his grace frees us from pride and performance and empowers us to worship Him with our heads, hearts, and hands in all of life.

Life-Changing Community

We pursue life-changing community because that is God’s way of bringing the grace and peace of the gospel into our lives. The gospel calls us to meet people where they are, but not to leave them where they are.

Our Mission Statement

We exist to build a community of God’s peace through the ministry of God’s grace in midtown Tulsa and beyond.

Why Grace & Peace?

Grace & Peace are interconnected themes throughout the Bible. Grace is God’s unmerited kindness  to us through Christ Jesus. Peace is the wholeness or completeness for which God created us. The  name Grace & Peace reflects our desire to see God’s grace bring peace to our hearts, minds, relationships, and to the world around us.

Our Logo

The crown represents the grace we experience through King Jesus and the dove represents the peace we experience through King Jesus. The two are inseparable. God’s grace brings His peace.

What We Believe

We hold to the historic Christian faith as communicated in the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments. The foundations of this faith are expressed in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds. As members of the Presbyterian Church in America we belong to a body of churches that affirm and embrace the historic Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms as robust and faithful summaries of biblical Christianity.

There is only one true and living God who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory, and sharing the same attributes: infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth. God created all things by the word of his power, all very good, and continues to sustain and govern all creation by his  wise providence.

The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, infallible, and inerrant revelation of the triune God. God's Word is the only rule and standard by which we know what we are to believe concerning God and how we may glorify and enjoy Him.

Although God created humanity after his own image, possessing true knowledge, righteousness, and holiness, all humanity fell in the rebellion of our first parents, Adam and Eve, leading to the corruption of our whole nature. Sin is transgression  against God and rejection of his good law which leads to loss of fellowship with God and distorted relationships with ourselves, others, and the created order.

From all eternity the triune God ordained to save a multitude of sinners from every nation. The eternal Son took on flesh in Jesus Christ through his miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and his virgin birth. He is true God and true man united in one person forever. He fulfilled all righteousness in his life, died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, on the third day he arose bodily from the dead, and ascended into heaven where he is now our High Priest and Mediator. The Holy Spirit applies the saving work of Christ to our hearts, convicting us of sin and drawing us to the Savior. Our salvation is wholly dependent upon the work of God’s sovereign and free grace. God credits Christ’s perfect righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, thereby justifying them in his sight. Only those who are born of the Holy Spirit and receive Jesus Christ become children of God and heirs of eternal life.

The church is made up of all persons who put their faith in Jesus and by the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit are united together in the body of Christ. The church is expressed in local congregations where the Word of God is preached in its purity and the sacraments (Lord's supper and baptism) are administered in their integrity. The church is called to proclaim the gospel to the ends of the earth and bear witness to the eternal kingdom of God through scriptural discipline, faithful service, and loving fellowship.

Jesus Christ will come again to the earth to judge the living and the dead. At his return, believers, being raised up to glory, will be made perfectly blessed in the full enjoying of God to all eternity. The triune God will fulfill his eternal plan and make all things new to the praise of his glorious grace.
